The PanelMate 1-7/8" insert with countersinking head is a quick and economical way to provide a 1/4-20 internally threaded anchoring base for hurricane panels in concrete or wood without a stucco exterior. Stalgard finish provides exceptional corrosion resistance. Oversized 1/2" thread design (.527" O.D.) provides high strength connection.
Installation:
Pre-drill pilot hole with 7/16" ANSI drill bit. Next drive in the PanelMate insert until it seats flush. Use of an impact driver is recommended. <br><strong>NOTE:</strong> In non-grout-filled CMU applications, masonry drill bits and hammer drills are recommended instead of SDS bits and rotary hammer drills, in order to minimize spalling of block wall.
